Email Auth Checker

Check SPF, DMARC, DKIM, MX, and BIMI records for any domain in one place.

Email Auth Checker

Audit a domain's email authentication setup. Looks up MX records (mail servers), SPF (sender policy), DMARC (alignment and reporting policy), DKIM (signature key for a given selector), and BIMI (brand indicator). Each record is parsed and explained in plain language with pass / warn / fail badges, so you can spot deliverability issues without reading raw DNS output.

Why Email Authentication Matters

Modern email providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo) require domains sending bulk mail to publish SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. Without them, legitimate mail lands in spam folders or gets rejected outright. Even for low-volume business email, weak or missing authentication makes a domain easier to spoof in phishing attacks. This tool audits all of those records in one place so you can see exactly what each receiver sees when it gets your mail.

What Each Record Does

SPF (Sender Policy Framework) lists which mail servers are authorized to send mail from the domain. DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) cryptographically signs each message so receivers can verify it has not been tampered with. DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance) tells receivers what to do when SPF or DKIM fail — reject, quarantine, or take no action — and where to send aggregate reports. MX records identify the mail servers that accept inbound mail. BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) lets compliant brands display a logo next to authenticated mail in supporting clients.

Common Configuration Mistakes

The most frequent issues are: SPF records that exceed the 10-DNS-lookup limit (causing silent failures), DMARC policies stuck at p=none indefinitely (no protection), DKIM selectors that drift out of sync after key rotation, and MX records pointing at servers that no longer exist. I help clients audit and fix email authentication, set up reporting pipelines for DMARC aggregate reports, and migrate mail platforms. Learn about integration services or get in touch.
